VersaSense to present on IoT at Innov’action Aerospace 4.0

VersaSense CTO and Co-founder Danny Hughes, PhD, will deliver a lecture on “The Plug & Play Wireless IoT Fabric for the Connected Supply Chain” at the Innov’action Aerospace 4.0 event, organized in the frame of the Interreg project Innovation2Market, on April 17th at the Park Inn, Liège Airport.

This presentation will describe the work of VersaSense in deploying plug-and-play Internet of Things technologies in critical industries such as manufacturing. We will begin with a perspective on the complementary potential and applications of ultra low power mesh networks and long range, wide area networks. Critical security threats facing the Internet of Things will then be identified and the presentation will conclude by describing recent joint research collaborations between VersaSense and KU Leuven on mitigating these threats.

Danny Hughes is the Chief Technical Officer of Versasense NV, an Internet of Things spin-off company that provides the fabric to power the 4th industrial revolution. He is also a Professor with the Department of Computer Science of KU Leuven (Belgium), where he is a member of the DistriNet (Distributed Systems and Computer Networks) research group and leads the Networked Embedded Software task-force. Danny holds a PhD from Lancaster University (UK) and has since worked as a Visiting Scholar with the University of California at Berkeley (USA), a Visiting Scholar with the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and as a Lecturer with Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (China). His PhD focused on Peer-to-Peer (P2P) systems and his current research is on distributed software systems and the Internet of Things (IoT).
