Unilin Panels needed a solution that helped them in avoiding unplanned downtime. Every single hour of uncoordinated downtime is a significant concern for the company, since it not only costs money, but also disturbs several up- and downstream production operations.

Due to the sheer size of the production facility, and inherent challenges in terms of tough RF connectivity, Unilin Panels asked VersaSense to provide a solution that met several requirements in terms of low-effort installation, cybersecurity, and qualitative results. 

Machines, including pumps, ventilators, electric motors, reducers, and even redlers, provided by different vendors had to be monitored continuously, providing accurate predictions on their health. These predictions had to be understandable by every engineer, including engineers who are not machine experts.

In order to assist their Unilin’s reliability engineers with 24/7 asset monitoring and health predictions, VersaSense deployed an ultra-robust and ultra-secure wireless mesh network consisting of 100s of wireless sensors  monitoring machine vibration and temperature around the clock.
